The fourth in a series of paintings where the paint was placed in patterns upon the surface in varried volumes in order to test the movement of the colors among themselves as they were pulled by the blade. This tested which paint colors produced the top layers of the gradients and what kind of pressure was needed to cut through them. The series helped to develop a better feel for the substance of the paint, enabling results to become more predictable.

It is acrylic on stained 1/4" oriented strand plywood that was stained with a homemade stain. The painting is inlaid into a custom milled frame which gives the piece the overall shape and dimensions of a gallery wrapped canvas.
