The first successful painting painted with a blade. One previous attempt, B1, was a failure. Painted on canvas, this was before trend went to painting on wood. Birds show up in many early paintings. The humming bird in white embodies the action in this painting. Influence of Pollock can also be seen in the use of the drip technique, as well as a few footprints in the paint which blend effortlessly into the intense gestalt.
